"Yoga Butt": What to Do & What to Avoid:

Long‑standing buttock pain can be "yoga butt" — inflammation where the hamstring meets pelvic connective tissue that often mimics sciatica by radiating down the leg.

How To Counteract Too Much Sitting / Too Much Screen Time:

Forward-head posture from constant screen use is usually caused by staying stuck in one position, not sitting itself — static loading in sitting, standing or lying can all cause problems.

Teaching Populations with Aging Spines / Degenerative Disc Disease:

Practical guidance for group classes helping older adults or people with degenerative disc disease, emphasizing individualized, pain‑guided movement and real‑life context rather than blanket rules

How to Address Chronic Breathing Patterns:

Explaining why chest- or belly-dominant breathing only becomes problematic when someone is stuck in a pattern, and how yoga and rehab can gently introduce alternative movement options to release restrictions.

Navigating Your Teaching Path:

Some practical guidance for Vinyasa teachers paralyzed by new course material: how to personalize within group classes without turning them into one‑to‑one clinics.

The Warrior Series "Behind the Scenes":

Why the Warrior sequence uses a modified stance: feet slightly apart (heels roughly under the sitting bones), a little wider laterally and a shorter front-to-back step so the feet stay largely fixed through Warrior I, II and III with counterposes.

The Warrior Series & SI Joint Considerations:

Explaining that the warrior sequence is safe when taught and practiced correctly and that asymmetrical poses aren’t inherently harmful to the sacroiliac (SI) joints...risk depends on technique, not asymmetry.

"Should I do ___ all the time during my practice?":

Must we habitually draw the lower belly in for every asana? Core engagement should depend on the specific pose and the breathing pattern.

The Bandhas as "An Experience":

Bandhas are an experience — a co‑ordinated whole‑body action, not an isolated pelvic‑floor or abdominal squeeze. Aim to coordinate breath and movement rather than trying to isolate a single "bandha muscle."
